BENEFITING: Research Down Syndrome
Two days after our daughter was born, we found out she had Down Syndrome. It was the hardest day of both of our lives. Little did we know that Teagan was everything we never knew we wanted in a daughter! In just 8 months of life, she has taught us many valuable lesson and continue to touch the heart of those who meet her.
Our history with running and triathlon in the community spans 10+ years. Our running has taken on a different meaning-not only to model an healthy and active lifestyle for Teagan, but also to raise awareness about Down Syndrome and the amazing inidivudal they are. We recognize the strength that the community has when it comes together and unites. We wanted to share our love for running and our daughter Teagan with the community.
On August 25th, we will be having the 2nd Sweet T 1K as part of the Heart and Sole race series (http://www.heartandsolehalf.com/heart-and-sole-half/index.html). This is a family race in which all proceeds benefit Research Down Syndrome (http://www.researchds.org/about/).
Additionally, I will be taking on the Naperville Marathon in November and raising money for that race.
If you want to RACE FOR SWEET T, please send this link to your friends and family or create your own event and fundraise for this campaign!
