Good things come in three's! October 2015 is two full years since our inspiring friend Ayla launched Resonate in Rwanda, two full years since our first fundraiser for a sporting event (Amsterdam Marathon 2013 in which we raised over $14,000 for Syrian refugee assistance), and 6 months since we moved to East Africa.
Help us celebrate these three momentous events as we compete in our first event for a fundraiser on the continent, for an issue we care deeply about and in surroundings so unique to East Africa -- a triathlon around the rim of a volcano!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to help Ayla build support for Resonate as it starts its third year.
Resonate supports women leading change in East Africa. Resonate believes that all women can be leaders in their lives, families, and communities. The program combines leadership training with the power of storytelling and hands-on experience to unleash to power of women and girls to make change.
Resonate has seen incredible results so far: Diane took the professional readiness course and used her new skills to land a new job. Francine took the Storytelling for Leadership course and decided that she finally had the confidence to be a community leader and run for village council. There are still so many more girls to be reached!
In year 3, Resonate is aiming to raise $30,000 to run a robust training of trainer's program so that it can both deepen and broaden its impact, and support more women leading change in East Africa.
Please join us in supporting Ayla as she continues to build Resonate and works to increase its ability to make impactful change on womens' lives in East Africa! We're excited to watch the transformation of the lives of the women who are touched by her program - and hope that we can be part of helping more women have such a life-changing opportunity.
