BENEFITING: DEKALB RAPE CRISIS CENTER INC
EVENT DATE: Nov 22, 2012
I’m running my 2nd half marathon this Thanksgiving, and I wanted to use the race as an opportunity to raise money for a worthy cause. My charity of choice is one for which I occasionally volunteer, the Dekalb Rape Crisis Center. The DRCC is a wonderful nonprofit dedicated to providing support for survivors of sexual assault and sexual abuse.
They are staffed by compassionate, trained individuals who provide vital services for the Atlanta community, and they are in critical need of financial support. I know that the holiday season is fast approaching, but every little bit helps.
Since a half marathon is 13.1 miles, $13 might be a good amount for a suggested donation. For a marathon-sized donation of $26 or more, I'll write your name on the shirt that I'll wear in the race.
(Please note that the actual amount of the donation does not include the optional fee that this website adds for processing. Also note that crowdrise.com's processing fee can be deleted or increased if you wish.)
For more information about the DRCC, visit their website at www.dekalbrapecrisiscenter.org.
Thanks so much, everyone!
