It is such an honor to use my very first marathon to support my domestic violence community! As the Executive Director of The Safe Haven Network, I firmly believe that domestic violence is a community problem that only the community as a whole can solve. I chose to run my first ever marathon for Team Run DV Out of Town because this way I can support not one, but TEN local domestic violence agencies making a difference in MY community.
The Safe Haven Network recognizes the important bond between people and their pets, and the role that bond can play in the struggles of a domestic violence victim. With that in mind, I have pet-related rewards for those generous supporters who donate to my run:
$25 - A personalized thank you card, "signed" by my mascots, Lazarus and McLovin (make sure I have your address!)
$50 - The name of your pet (or anyone you'd like to honor) written on my race shirt (or shorts or shoes or legs, if I run out of space!)
$100 - A personalized thank you VIDEO from me and the mascots
$200 - All of the above, PLUS an exclusive Run DV t-shirt, designed by yours truly! (see here: https://teespring.com/stores/jessk-rundv-fundraiser)
ALL donors will be thanked publicly on my Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram - unless you request to donate anonymously.
If you have a story of domestic violence you want to share (either your own or to honor a friend or family member), I will gladly share those for free. :)
Thank you so much for supporting me and my community!! For more information about the Run DV Coalition, read below...

We are 10 very different domestic violence service providers from across the city of Chicago, who have come together to advance our cause in ending domestic violence. We recruit a team of dedicated runners to help us raise both money & awareness. All revenue generated by the Run DV Team is used by our member agencies for domestic violence prevention and supportive services for its survivors and their families.
The Run DV Coalition is an unprecedented collaboration representing diverse populations across Chicago. Our domestic violence agencies are located in neighborhoods throughout the city and suburbs, and serve communities representing all races, ethnicities, and religions.
