Run for Alex
Organized by: J Tejeda
EVENT DATE Aug 30, 2014
Alex was diagnosed last April with Stage III squamous cell carcinoma of his right tonsil, which has metastasized to the lymph node on the right side of his neck.
He has had no symptoms other than a rather large lump on his neck for the last couple of months, which we thought was just a swollen gland as a result of fighting off some kind of virus or infection.
The cancer in his tonsil is too large and too close to the carotid artery to remove by surgery. The ENT doctor said time is of the essence and wanted Alex to start radiation, 30-32 sessions over 6 weeks, 5 times a week- and chemo two weeks later after first radiation.
Alex is so strong, and trusts that he will be fine, but after seeing our father deteriorate from the radiation and chemo he had, I know he is in for a huge battle which I never in a million years thought Alex would face.
He wants to do everything he can to avoid radiation and chemo, so he met with a holistic doctor a week after his diagnosis who put him on a very restricted, plant-based Alkaline diet for 30 days and now he's in a Ketogenic diet.
He knows that God is holding him in the palm of His hand, and that He goes before us to fight the battle. And we all trust that whatever the outcome, God will work it all together for our good because he loves him. And we know that He will bring something beautiful from this horrendous struggle.
His major expense it will be a three weeks therapy (24/7) in West Palm Beach, Florida or in Tijuana, Mexico, where there are about six clinics that cure cancer with high probabilities of success. His other expenses are alll the doctor visits he needs to do (Sometimes 5 times in a week), all the supplements, all kinds of therapies (Oxigen, detox, thermo, vibration etc)
As you already might know, insurance won't cover his mounting medical expenses, none of the insurances cover the holistc route he is taking, he needs our support to ensure that financial constraints will never limit the quality of care that he will receive.
My brother is such an amazing Dad, husband, son, friend, brother (He's been an important part of my life), he's generous, kind, fun, loves sports, exercise is very important for him, always shares a good nutrition tip, he's a hard worker, great biz owner. Please consider donating, and help us spread the word. Thank you all for your support, prayers, words of encouragement and solidarity.
