Run for Autism- Dedicated to Amy
Organized by: jane vongvorachoti
EVENT DATE Sep 06, 2014
An estimated 1 out of 42 boys and 1 in 189 girls are diagnosed with autism in the United States. I created this fundraiser to help support a dear teammate of mine, John Z, who has a daughter Amy. Amy is a beautiful young girl who has severe autism (nonverbal).
I would love for our running community, family, and friends to support John Z. by coming out to run in NYRR's Autism Speaks on September 6th 2014 as well as help raise money to Autism research and treatment for those who are in need of our support.
John is one of the most kind, generous, dedicated, and humbling guy I have ever met. He has stood in the rain, sleet, and snow at Thursday night practices even when he is not running, cheering on his teammates through tough workouts. He has been at the Armory at almost every meet making sure he has a presence. He attends important life time moments in CPTC members' lives. He supports friends like they are his family. John is also a very competitive runner and displays it in his training day in and day out. I can only imagine how much of a dedicated father he is to Amy.
Please help me raise money so that an amazing man who has always supported the community, family, friends, teammates, and family can have a donation made in his name to Autism Speaks! No other person deserves this support than John.
Ways you can make an impact: You can donate money on crowdrise.com, run NYRR Autism Speaks, or attend running/workout sessions run by Jane.
