BENEFITING: Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center
EVENT DATE: Mar 20, 2011
HOURS PLEDGED: 54
What is the one thing that my cousin and Derek Fisher have in common?
NBA Championship rings. Seriously? No.
They've both spent more time than they care to ever keep track of inside Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center trying to save their daughters' visions, and most importantly, their lives. You see, both Derek Fisher's Daughter and My cousin's daughter, Ava, were diagnosed with Retinoblastoma (acute cancer of the eye) at a very young age. More info on the cancer can be found here: http://www.mskcc.org/mskcc/html/2867.cfm
I am running the LA Marathon to help raise awareness for Retinoblastoma and also help my cousin daughter who has been affected by this life-threatening cancer since she was 3 months old.
With your help, I can run forAva!
I will continue to post new pictures, videos and information every week. So check back for more news.
UPDATE: 4/2- We did it! We raised almost DOUBLE what we set out to raise. oh, and I also finished the marathon in under 4 hours but that's not the real accomplishment.
