The Run for Empowerment team has come together to stand up against domestic violence and to draw attention to the Women Helping Battered Women Annual Run for Empowerment, taking place June 15, 2013 at the Burlington Waterfront.
The Run for Empowerment is more than just a road race – it is an opportunity for survivors of domestic abuse to demonstrate their new-found feelings of independence and empowerment to themselves, their children, and their families.
In 2012, WHBW provided services at no cost to nearly 5,000 adults and children in Chittenden County, Vermont whose lives had been affected by domestic abuse. This includes emergency shelter, legal advocacy, credit repair, children’s groups, and other necessary direct services that help survivors to lead empowered lives that are free from coercion, threats, and violence.
Please consider making a donation today to keep these crucial services available to those that need them most. Thank you so much for your support!
