BENEFITING: BRING LOVE IN INCORPORATED
EVENT DATE: Aug 17, 2014
My name is Aselefech. I was adopted from Ethiopia when I was six years old. In August, I’m going to run a half-marathon there. Why? I want to help more children in Ethiopia grow up in safe, loving families. I want to raise as much money as I can to support Bring Love In.
I want children to grow up in Ethiopia with love, and not be homeless or mistreated because they are poor or ill. Bring Love In unites women who are widows with children who need mothers. They work alongside families who need just a little economic help so they can keep their children. Family preservation matters.
My twin sister and I were adopted from Ethiopia when we were six years old. We had happy childhoods, growing up in Maryland with our parents and brothers. In 2011, I reunited with my Ethiopian family—parents, brothers, and sisters—in Ethiopia.
I love my American family. I love my Ethiopian family.
I'm running a half-marathon on August 17 with Ethiotrails, in the Abijatta-Shalla National Park in the Rift Valley, not far from where I was born. Please support me in building families and keeping then together in Ethiopia. Thank you!
