After hearing the extent of human trafficking and sexual exploitation that occurs in Asia on a daily basis I new I needed to do something to help. Following investigation and a few interviews, my wife and I moved to Cambodia to volunteer with Hagar International, an NGO that restores victims of human trafficking and severe abuse In Cambodia, Vietnam and Afghanistan through protection, recovery, economic empowerment and community integration. Check it out - www.hagarinternational.org
Hagar cares for survivors until they can care for themselves, pursuing justice, challenging stigma and restoring broken lives so women and children can reunite with society once again.
Currently there is a significant funding gap in the area of transitional care, which delivers services enabling individuals to be reintegrated back into communities; supporting foster family care, case management services and education at catch-up school.
I'm running the half marathon in Angkor Wat, Cambodia in December to raise awareness and funds for this awesome work. My goal is to raise $100 for every kilometre I run. Please join with me to support Hagar’s work, so that hopeless stories can become hopeful, and survivors can be restored to wholeness.
After the race, I will send out a full report with photos and acknowledgements, and I will let you know how Hagar has used the funds.
Thanks, I really appreciate your support!
