BENEFITING: BROOKLYN COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Nov 04, 2012
This year's NYC Marathon may have been cancelled, but members of The Owl's Head Running Team still ran through the boroughs of NYC for a few hours on Sunday, November 4th, in an effort to support the areas & people affected by Hurricane Sandy.
We ran through Brooklyn, carrying relief supplies on our backs to Broad Channel, Queens, with a caravan of vehicles transporting additional supplies that had been collected.
On Sunday, 11/18, Team Owl's Head members participated in the Brooklyn Marathon, continuing to bring attention to the need for continued support for those still affected.
In conjunction with our RUN FOR HURRICANE RELIEF, we have been raising money for efforts related to assisting communities in Brooklyn directly affected by Hurricane Sandy.
As a team of Brooklynites, it is important that we ensure all donations raised through this fundraising page go directly to an organization that will help our fellow NYers. The Brooklyn Recovery Fund (set up by the Brooklyn Community Fund), has been established to quickly get much needed assitance to Brooklyn communites recovering from the Hurricane. All donations made here will go directly to this fund.
