Derek Ching wrote -On May 18th, I will be running in the Brooklyn Half-Marathon - my first ever half-marathon, in support of the Khan Academy. Founded in 2006 by Salman Khan, the Khan Academy is a non-profit educational website with a collection of over 4,100 video tutorials covering a range of topics, from mathematics, history, healthcare, medicine, finance, physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, economics, cosmology, and organic chemistry, American civics, art history, macroeconomics, microeconomics, and computer science......Yeah, you get the idea.
I like to think of myself as a life-long learner, and I never ceased to be amazed that there is such a massive collection of videos, floating on the Internet, with the sole purpose of enriching knowledge. Best of all, it is free, widely accessible, and allows users to learn at their own pace. In the short time that it has been in existence, the Khan Academy has penetrated classrooms across the world and now has over 4 million unique users per month . I strongly believe that this is a cause that will have a positive impact on the world of education and revolutionize the way we think about learning.
I highly encourage you to check out the website http://www.khanacademy.org and find a topic that is of interest to you!
Jason, Hope you don't mind me using the photo of Juliet!
