Maryrose Kristopik, a music teacher for all grade levels at Sandy Hook Elementary barricaded herself and a class of fourth graders in a closet, using large musical instruments to block one door, and holding the knob of the other door tightly as the shooter banged, screaming "Let me in!" Later that morning, Ms. Kristopik and her fourth graders were lead outside to safety.
My name is Alaina Sheehan, and I am origionally from Southbury, CT. As a fellow elementary school music teacher, I want to thank Ms. Kristopik for her heroism and bravery. I am truly inspired by her actions and I would like to dedicate my Run For The Families of Sandy Hook on March 23rd to her, her family, the children who's lives she saved, and her students who's lives were lost.
Please sponser me in my run on March 23rd to help raise money for the families and victims of the Sandy Hook Community! Thank you so much for your support!
