BENEFITING: New Hope Academy
EVENT DATE: Apr 30, 2016
Will you partner with me to provide a great education and bright future for a less priveleged child?
There are thousands of families in our community living at or below the poverty level. It's a blessing when we help struggling families meet basic needs like food, clothing, shelter, and medical assistance. But meeting immediate needs won't break the cycle of poverty, which continues from one generation to the next.
Education is a game changer that breaks the cycle of generational poverty.
Families living at the poverty level can't afford a private education for their children. Public schools are their only option. They can't afford to send their son or daughter to a private school offering a great Christ-centered education.
New Hope Academy is making a real difference in our community.
Now in it's 20th year, New Hope Academy is an economically, racially, and culturally diverse private community school offering a Christ-centered classical education where mission priorities include eliminating segregation, empowering the poor, and preparing all students for a life of service.
At New Hope, 220 children from very different circumstances are brought together in a loving environment and are taught to show respect and kindness to one another, without regard for skin color, background, or financial status. Rich, poor, black or white...acceptance abounds. Differences are embraced. The hallways are positively flooded with joy and hope.
There are two classes in each grade from pre-k thru 6th grade, and there are no more than 14 students per class. New Hope students discover their passion for learning while being transformed by dedicated teachers who nurture every child - thanks to small class sizes.
New Hope reserves 40% to 50% of it's enrollment, in every class and grade, granting full scholarships to children coming from families living at or below the poverty level.
Parents who do pay tuition only covers 50% of the New Hope's annual expenses. The mission to educate children coming from low-income households requires New Hope to raise an additional $1,200,000 each year to meet its budget. It's a challenge for any non-profit organization to raise $1,000,000 and it's especially a huge challenge for a small school like New Hope Academy to raise that much in order to fulfill its mission. Scholarships are not funded or subsidized by parents who do pay tuition.
100% of New Hope Scholarships are funded by donations received from individuals, churches, and organizations in Franklin and from around the country!
Run for Hope (formerly Powered by Hope) is an annual fundraising event now in its 8th year. Run for Hope raises about $180,000 each year and is New Hope Academy's largest source of donations to help fund the scholarships they grant. Run for Hope participates in the St. Jude Rock 'n' Roll Nashville Marathon that happens on April 30, 2016.
I've made the commitment to Run for Hope! I've never run a marathon before, and want to share my two motivations.
First, at age 63 I want to improve my health and lose a few pounds. More importantly, I want to raise $11,200 which is enough to provide a child with a full scholarship to attend New Hope beginning August 2016. Won't you please help me reach this goal?
What a blessing it will be to know God worked through us to help a child receve a great education. Together...we can provide a child with a brighter future and strengthen our community...and make the world a better place too.
I'm so grateful for your willingness to support me....and for supporting the mission of New Hope Academy.
100% of your gift, of any amount, will go towards giving a child a full Scholarship to attend New Hope Academy beginning in August 2016. Every gift matters and will make a difference.
God bless you for your generous heart and for helping make a positive difference in the world.
