BENEFITING: UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO
EVENT DATE: Nov 02, 2014
Most of you know how much I hate to run (and how terrible I have always been at it). What you don't know is that I have spent the last couple of months training to run a 5k on November 2nd in order to raise funds in honor of my friend Amy Sandler, her wife, Niki Quasney, and their two beautiful daughters, Asher and Maddox. Niki is 38, and she has been battling stage 4 ovarian cancer for over 5 years. Niki's amazing athleticism inspired me to to run this race--earlier this year, she ran two 5ks and biked through most of the summer, all while undergoing treatment. Niki, Amy and her family have established an endowment at the University of Chicago--Niki Quasney's Fight Hard Ovarian Cancer Research Endowment. My goal is to raise $1,000 (or more!) for Niki's endowment. I hope you will support my run and join me in supporting Niki, Amy, Asher and Maddox and all of the families who are fighting ovarian cancer.
