On Memorial Day I'm running the 33rd annual BolderBoulder 10K in honor of OrphanAid Africa (OA), a non-profit my friend Denise is helping to run. Based in Ghana, OA promotes the rights of 4,000 orphans and vulnerable children currently under the care of institutions through family tracing and re-unification and foster care.
In 2008, Denise traveled to Ghana with her husband, Ryan, and worked directly with the children at OA's Foster Family Community in Ayenyah, the village where OA is headquartered. For the last 2 years, Denise has served as a permanent volunteer for OA and now works as the NGO's USA Manager.
OrphanAid Africa is a registered 501c3 non-profit, non-governmental organization, a UNICEF partner and an implementing partner of the Government of Ghana's National Plan of Action for Orphans and Vulnerable Children, ensuring children grow up in families as opposed to institutional care.
THANK YOU AND PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!
