THE STORY:

Last year, a good friend of Karyn and me, Laura, ran in a half marathon to raise money for her 2 year stay in India.  This stay was to help women who were caught in the sex trade in Mumbai. She is now currently in India, and Praise God has full support. But even though her support is complete, this ministry is in need of funds to put towards their actual task. I want to raise money for her in her absence to go towards the ministry of Rahab's Rope.  This ministry includes but is not limited to counseling, vocational training (so they have somewhere to go once they get out of the sex trade), and most importantly, Gospel-Centered healing to those who have been enslaved by this destructive system. To do this, I will be running in the Secret City Half Marathon in Oak Ridge, TN on November 18th.  It has been 6 years and 60 pounds since I have done any sort of competitive running, so it will be a very hard journey. I would love for you to sponsor me in my effort with the funds going towards this wonderful charity.  If you have any questions please email me at cwade@pga.com or call me at 706-491-1791.

Isaiah 61:1-3

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
    instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
    instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
    a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.
