BENEFITING: Solving Kids' Cancer
EVENT DATE: Feb 01, 2015
Did you know that cancer kills more children than any other disease, and yet pediatric cancer only receives 3.8% of all cancer research funding?
The Ronan Thompson Foundation is partnering with Solving Kids' Cancer to help bring two new next-generation treatment options to children currently battling Neuroblastoma. In honor of Ronan, Maya's spicy 3 year old boy who fought stage IV Neuroblastoma during his full but short life, I will be running my first half marathon to raise awareness and funding to support new clinical trials and therapies!
Ronan’s story is a powerful one that has stuck with me since first hearing it. Having the opportunity to care for kids in a pediatric internship during my last semester of nursing school has further ignited my enthusiasm to help these kids, and I would love your support with giving them more.
All donations, in any amount, will be so appreciated! I'm aiming to raise $1300 for the 13.1 miles I'll be running in the Kaiser Permanente San Francisco half marathon February 1, 2015!
