BENEFITING: BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF NEW JERSEY INC
EVENT DATE: Aug 15, 2014
Run for Tomorrow’s Cure
Imagine the day when we can prevent the devastating effects of Alzheimer’s disease, Autism spectrum disorders and brain injury in premature babies from impacting the lives of millions worldwide. At the Biomedical Research Institute of New Jersey we believe that today’s research will be tomorrow’s cures.
On August 15th a group of students from BRInj’s 2014 Undergraduate Research Program will be running a marathon to raise funds to support this program and today’s research at the Biomedical Research Institute of New Jersey.
Who We Are: The Biomedical Research Institute of New Jersey (BRInj) is a recognized 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization dedicated to experimental discovery, translational medical research and the improvement of health. BRInj’s scientists are dedicated to the search for medical breakthroughs that will benefit millions of people across the globe affected by diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Autism and disorders affecting premature babies.
Our Program: Unlike in a traditional academic setting, BRInj’s Undergraduate Research Program offers a unique exposure to a pre-clinical research environment in which students develop critical-thinking and trouble-shooting skills and explore their intellectual curiosity. As they engage in cutting-edge biomedical research with the guidance of leading MD and PhD scientists, students gain valuable input that helps them effectively decide between medical and research careers. BRInj is dedicated to training the next generation of research scientists by providing the tools to fully realize their potential.
How You Can Help: Your gift will fund the continuation of BRInj’s Undergraduate Research Program for bright, young scholars next year. Contributions cover the cost of student participation, scientific materials and supplies and other costs related to the program. With your investment, we can spark more young minds to initiate meaningful research projects today that we hope will ultimately find tomorrow’s cures. 100% of funds raised will go toward this program.
