THE STORY:

SPINAL CORD INJURY ASSOCIATION OF ILLINOIS wrote -

Our runners, who Run For Those Who Roll, run to help the SCIA provide services for people who can no longer walk because they have been paralyzed by accidents and medical conditions.

Whether caused by a motor vehicle crash, fall, violence or medical condition, instataneous paralysis changes everything.  The SCIA exists to help people through the overwhelming initial stage and throughout life as new issues surface.

Your donation will be used to help find the care, products and services needed to live in this world of SCI through an information and referral service.  You will be helping connect newly injured persons with others who have made the journey ahead of them through a peer support network. You will be helping individuals who are paraylzed, family members and health professionals stay up to date on SCI care through seminars, lectures and newsletters.  Your support may prevent a teen from being paraylzed because he or she listened to our injury prevention message at school.

Your contribution will make the marathon even more meaningful by supporting our runners raise awareness for those who can no longer walk.
