BENEFITING: Tourette Association of America
EVENT DATE: Mar 18, 2012
We are running in support of The National Tourette Syndrome Association, a non-profit organization whose mission is to identify the cause of, find the cure for, and control the effects of Tourette Syndrome.
Tourette Syndrome is an often misdiagnosed and misunderstood neurological disorder that is a lot more common than many think. It becomes evident in early childhood or adolescence and is defined by multiple involuntary (outside of the patient's control) motor and vocal tics.
One of the goals of TSA is to educate both patients and the public on the many facets of tic disorders. Increased public understanding and tolerance of symptoms is of paramount importance to people with Tourette Syndrome.
In a world where over 160,000 children stay home from school every day due to bullying issues, our hope is that by supporting TSA, we can help alleviate the pressure on children who are living with TS. Donations to TSA could help fund programs to change stigmas, promote understanding, and enable research to find the cause, cure and improved treatments.
100 individual donations of $10 would get us to our goal of raising $1,000 for TSA. Anyone who donates $26 or more is eligible to win an iPad2!!
We appreciate your support!
