BENEFITING: WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT
EVENT DATE: Apr 21, 2012
HOURS PLEDGED: 100
Mileage Tracker: 300
As an enlisted Air Force member, I see the sacrifices that are made in the military on a day to day basis. As this will be my third marathon, I feel it is time to start running for a bigger reason, and that is to give back to those military members wounded in battle. These warriors put their lives on the line in deployed locations, and ultimately their lives will never be the same. This fundraiser is set to ease them back into a normal lifestyle and assist in any way possible.
I will be running the Garmin Marathon on 21 April 2012 to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project. My Current PR for the marathon is 3:45:53, and if I beat that in this race, I will personally donate an extra $250 to the WWP.
*UPDATE* I set a new PR at the Garmin Marathon with a time of 3:38:54. The weather was perfect, as if all the hard work was meant to pay off on that day. Thank you to everyone who donated and showed me unconditional support throughout my journey to raise money for the WWP. I will hopefully be able to schedule another race soon, and will definitely be back raising money for another great cause.
