BENEFITING: WORLDWIDE ORPHANS
EVENT DATE: May 18, 2013
I'll be running the Brooklyn Half Marathon in support of Worldwide Orphans Foundation for the second consecutive year. In 2012, much of my motivation came from my niece Juliet and the desire to help WWO --- an organization comitted to bettering the lives of orphaned children. Juliet turned 2 this year, and to continue to see her grow is a constant joy and yet a constant reminder that there are so many children in the world without the proper foundation and resources to reach their potential.
Rather than just asking for your support, I am going to run for it... again! On Saturday, May 18th, I will be participating in the NYRR’s Brooklyn Half-Marathon in efforts to fundraise $1,500 towards the Worldwide Orphans Foundation (WWO).
Worldwide Orphans Foundation (WWO) was founded in 1997 by Dr. Jane Aronson, a renowned pediatric infectious disease and adoption medicine specialist, who has dedicated her life to working with children. WWO is currently working to transform the lives of orphaned children in five countries (Bulgaria, Ethiopia, Haiti, Serbia, and Vietnam), where they address the children’s physical and mental health, their education and their ability to plan for and to achieve that is productive and fulfilling in their own countries.
I strongly believe in WWO, and with your support we can help address the needs of orphans around the world.
