I have been battling kidney cancer for 16 years, the last 11 as a Stage IV incurable patient. At this point I have exhausted all but one of the drugs approved for treatment of this disease. I hope to be admitted to my second clinical trial of an experimental drug soon. But not for nothing is my penname PressOnRegardless. I have today and I am richly blessed in so many respects, not the least of which is living the last 50 years in a paradise on earth called the U.S. Virgin Islands. The sunset photo on this page is taken from the terrace of our home. My richest blessing is my wonderful wife of 36 years, Debbie, and my three grown children and the two "in-hearts" who married my elder two. How could I not be motivated to try my best to give back?
My charity is the Virgin Islands Chapter of the American Cancer Society. Surviving cancer requires strength, determination, and unfotunately in modern America, money. The Society assists local folk with expenses for treatment, drugs, and travel to cancer centers on the mainland. The cost can be overwhelming and by cost, I include the stress that comes with it. Their kind and compassionate support for Virgin Islands patients and caregivers is second to NONE. I am humbly honored to help them in their mission. Please make a donation and join my fundraising team.
And to think I might have missed this...
