As you may know, education is a huge part of my life, and Futures Without Violences shares my passion to educate: "Futures Without Violence is... developing innovative programs and policies that: -support victims, survivors, and their families and help them get to safety -educate individuals about the critical roles that we all have to play in promoting healthy relationships -promote mutual respect as the foundation of healthy relationships -support children who are exposed to violence at home and in school -enlist health care providers and health systems to improve domestic violence responses -and much more" More and more violence is happening in our homes, our neighborhoods, and to our friends, children . Too many recent and horrific stories of unhealthy families are leading to fatalities. Even one death is too many. Especially when they are innocent babies. We need to start educating our children early and often on how to respond to violent situations and lead healthier lives, reeducate their families and peers on how to care for those who are directly affected, and train those in the medical field, etc. to report any suspicions early and support the victims in finding a safe place. That said, please give what you can to this wonderful organization. Or, join me at Mudderella in October! Either way, it is the least that any of us can do to show that survivors of violence are respected, loved and that those who did not survive are not forgotten.
