The Syrian civil war has devastated the lives of 13.5 million people, more than half of them children. Refugees are in dire need of medical, nutritional, and housing needs. Syrian refugees are often forced into unsafe living conditions, including inside refugee camps, leaving women and children particularly vulnerable. The Syrian Refugee Crisis speaks to me personally. Not only is it a horrific abuse of human rights, but it also echoes the Holocaust, a tragedy in which many of my family members were murdered. This spring, I will be running four long-distance races to raise money for the International Rescue Committee, a non-profit which aids Syrian refugees and IDPs. In April and May, I will complete two half marathons and two 10-milers. I am asking for donations of $10, but any amount is greatly appreciated. I also encourage you to look at IRC's website to learn about the work they do in Syria and around the world! Thank you so much for your time and generosity.
