For Pitties' Sake: Help Fund Emma's Chemo & Save Pitbulls
Organized by: Lainie Roth
As some of you know, I will be running in the Chicago Marathon this year. It was always my intent to raise money for charity through this race, but during my training, Emma was diagnosed with canine lymphoma and everything took a backseat to her care. She is currently receiving chemotherapy treatments, which are fairly expensive.
Since October is Pit Bull Awareness Month, I've decided I will be running in Emma's honor on October 9th to raise money for her treatment and also an amazing charity: the Stand Up For Pits Foundation. They are a nonprofit based in CA and work with rescue groups across the country to save dogs just like Emma. (You may not know that Emma was a euth-listed dog in Iowa before she was pulled by a rescue in Chicago.) The foundation pays for life-saving surgeries, works to stop dog-fighting, and advocates against discrimination. You can check them out here: http://www.standupforpits.us/about-stand-up-for-pits/
I will use half of the donations for Emma's treatment costs and the other half will go directly to SUFP. Any amount will be greatly appreciated by me, Emma, and all of the other dogs that SUFP will rescue! Thanks for all of your support!
