BENEFITING: THE BELL CENTER FOR EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAMS
Memorial Day weekend 2005 changed my life forever. Jack was born to a chorus of "What a big boy!" before the room went quiet and the staff became very busy. I wanted to see and hold that big boy but instead I was allowed to reach my hand out toward a little plastic box before he was carted off to intensive care. That was just the first moment that did not turn as I had planned. I was confused about so much and how to help him. Enter the friendly faces of The Bell Center. They encouraged us to see all the possibilities for Jack. They showed us how we could encourage his development. They supported us as he endured surgeries and hospitalizations. They encouraged us to believe in Jack's amazing ability to adapt. How can I not want this for every other mother out there struggling with a baby whose development is delayed? Will you join me in coming alongside these families and supporting their children's early beginnings? Let's give these children a positive start!
