For the fourth time, I will be running in the New Orleans Jazz Half Marathon in support of the Cancer Program at the New Orleans Children's Hospital. The half marathon, which will be held this year on October 29, is a 13.1 mile race from Lafayette Square in downtown New Orleans to Audubon Park, and back.
This race, with its unique mix of athletics, live jazz, and community spirit in effort to support such an important cause, encapsulates much that I love about New Orleans and has become one of my favorite half marathons.
I am happy to help and support this cause and the children that need help in any way that I can. The money raised will benefit the LaNasa-Greco Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, which treats more than 1,100 children each year. Children's Hospital treats more Louisiana kids with cancer than all other facilities combined.
