I started running 5k's with Cameron right after he was born in 2008. Cameron was born with Down Syndrome and although he is active, he overheats really easy and makes it hard for him to run alongside me. I realized after our first buddy walk/5k in 2008 that this was something that he and I could do together to bring awareness to Down Syndrome as well as support other charities. He is my running buddy and he loves to look up and smile at me as we run and say "Weeeee". Our goal is to run at least one 5k a month and it has to benefit a charity. We have run for American Cancer Society, MADD, March of Dimes, Cerebral Palsy, Kids and Women in Distress, Feeding South Florida and these are just to name a few. We have gone through 3 jogging strollers and are now on our 4th and he has pretty much outgrown it and it has become unsafe. I would hate to have to stop running with him because of his age and weight. Ainsley's Angels is an organization that provide Freedom Joggers to families with children who have special needs and enjoy running. Your small donation will give Cameron and I an opportunity to be a Freedom Jogger to contnue our runs together as well as fundraise for other children and familes that love to run together. It is a very special bond that we share. We run, laugh and sing while doing something good for the community. I want to continue to show him that you can do anything if you put your mind to it. If we are granted a Freedom Chair, we will continue to run for a cause.
