What is LGR:
Let’s Get Ready is a nonprofit organization that provides free SAT prep, college application guidance, and mentoring to low-income high school juniors and seniors throughout the Northeast. LGR recruits college students to volunteer as Coaches. Coaches meet with students twice a week for 9 weeks.
LGR has provided support to over 10,000 high school students and engaged over 4,500 college students to date in meaningful service learning experiences
93% of LGR students go directly to college after high school, compared to 47% of low-income students nationally.
LGR students increase their SAT scores an average of 110 points.
Commercial prep courses on the SAT range in price from $1,200 - $5,000. The LGR program is FREE for accepted participants ( and costs the organization $500 per student)
Catherine Wang, Corey Beck, Katherine Defusco, and Luke Sullivan will be competing in the Richmond Half Marathon on Nov. 12 in order to raise money for this phenomenal organization. ANY donation is appreciated and will make a difference in the Worcester LGR program.
