6 years ago I couldn't run a mile.
This year, I plan to run my first marathon -- that's 26.2 miles. Ahhhhhhh.
I've chosen to run the Beat the Blerch Marathon in Seattle, WA because, well, I really want to go to Seattle and eat cake. Yes, there's cake at every aid station! It's not a charity run and I'm paying for all my expenses. Since many runs ARE charity runs and I would have to raise money, I saw this as an opportunity to do just that, but for a charity of my choice, the American Civil Liberties Union.
"The ACLU works in the courts, legislatures and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed to all people in this country by the Constitution and laws of the United States. Read more about the history and mission of the ACLU."
They've been working overtime and I think it's important to support them in defending ourselves, our journalists, our neighbors. Join me in supporting them and help me get to $250!
And get monthly updates on the progress of my training and bitter complaints about injuries! :-) Or just donate and never check back here again...
