BENEFITING: International Rescue Committee
I’m heartbroken over 385,000 people who’ve been killed in Syria & the 11 million who’ve been displaced as they flee cities that have been flattened to rubble. I’m raising $$ for these families by pledging to run a 5K on June 25th. I hope that you’ll support my campaign by donating whatever you can so these families have a safe place for their children to grow and thrive. The International Rescue Committee is doing amazing work and has helped over 1 million Syrian refugees get the life-saving supplies and care they need! I recently met a Syrian family of six who resettled in Philadelphia after their house in Aleppo was shelled and their young daughter died without medical care. While they’ve endured horrible tragedy, they feel lucky because they have a new life here and feel safe for the first time in five years! But 11 million are still stuck in resettlement camps for years and they need food, water, supplies, medical care and education. The International Rescue Committee is a global humanitarian aid, relief, and development nongovernmental organization that responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover, and gain control of their future. Thank you in advance for your generosity! I’ll keep you posted on my training for the Color Run in Philadelphia on June 25th! My goal is to raise $2,500 by June 25th and find a sponsor to match the first $500. Let me know if you have ideas for companies that might want to help out!
