BENEFITING: Trilogy, Inc.
I am running in the 2016 Dublin Marathon on October 30th to benefit Trilogy Behavioral Healthcare, a not-for-profit behavioral healthcare organization with more than 45 years of experience serving people with mental health disorders in Chicago and its surrounding suburbs. Central to the philosophy of all Trilogy services is a belief in the possibility of long-term recovery from mental health disorders and mental health disorders with co-occurring substance use issues. I am running in support of Trilogy’s mission, which is to support people in their recovery from mental illness by helping them discover and reclaim their capabilities, life direction and well-being, because I believe people can and do make good choices for themselves when given the opportunity to identify their own strengths, talents and interests, and to create their own road to wellness. Since 2014, I have had the opportunity to work at Trilogy as a Community Integration Support Specialist. I assist individuals in finding hope and the resources they need to make it through poverty, trauma, mental health disorders and addiction. Their human resilience has always made me humble and respectful of their struggle. I am thankful for this opportunity to bring awareness to their stories.
