Dedicating our Relay race to Sara & Holly - Fundraising for the Relay
April 20, 2016
"Strength does not come from physical capacity. Strength comes from indomitable will." - Gandhi
As Impalas, we push each other and test our bodies daily to achieve our race and team goals. Today, two of our very own Impalas are fighting breast cancer using their indomitable will. We are running 191 miles in honor of Sara and Holly. We lift up our hearts and thoughts to Sara & Holly and run through the night because their fight continues night and day. Although the relay requires us to donate to Organs R Us, we are dedicating this race to support Sara and Holly as they fight against breast cancer.
Sara - Even while going through chemo treatments, Sara ran the 2016 Boston Marathon which happened to be on her birthday. She is doing what she loves and is not letting this stop her! Go Sara!
Holly - In 2014, Holly ran the Nike Half with a just diagnosed, very aggressive form of breast cancer. After that, she had two surgeries which successfully treated the cancer. She took 5 months off from running and lost 17% of her weight. Her first race back was a 10K in Jackson Hole at 6,500' with some serious climbs. She won. She then completed in multiple triathlons and beat ALL but a small handful of pros. Four months post cancer and 1 year after diagnosis, she placed 4th at the 2015 Nike Half. Go Holly!
Sara & Holly - you are our heroes!
