BENEFITING: Prize4Life, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Nov 04, 2012
It is with much gratitude and excitement that we share with you the details of this year’s annual ALS fundraiser. As you know, A Gathering of Friends has been held in the past as an opportunity for us all to come together as friends and family in the fight to against ALS. Through your generous support, the event has raised over $250,000 which has benefited not only critical funding for ALS research; it has always significantly increased the general public’s awareness of this debilitating disease. We cannot thank you enough for playing such an integral role in finding treatments and a cure for ALS! This year, however, we are doing things a bit different.
For this year’s fundraiser, in lieu of holding our Gathering event we decided to pool our collective funds and energy to support our extraordinary friend and neighbor, Vova Aleksanyan. Vova is an avid runner and proud supporter of the ALS community. To that end, he committed to run the ING New York City Marathon on November 4, 2012 as a member of the Prize4Life charity team. In keeping with a tradition we started with our friends nearly a decade ago, Vova planned to race through the boroughs of New York City wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the phrase, “Running for George.” Of course, Hurricane Sandy blew those plans up the East River. Undeterred, Vova ran Prize4Life's 5K4Life this past weekend, and looks forward to running the NYC Marathon next year. With that in mind, we are STILL asking for you to support Vova by donating funds to Prize4Life with a goal of raising $25,000 by December 31st.
We are proud to serve on the board of directors of Prize4Life. Prize4Life is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to accelerate the discovery of a treatment and a cure for ALS. We hope that you will please consider making a donation to Prize4Life.
Very truly yours,
George and Cynthia
