BENEFITING: American Red Cross
EVENT DATE: Oct 13, 2013
On October 13th I will be running the Chicago Marathon. Most of you know that I have been participating in a lot of races lately, but this will be my very first full marathon. In light of the recent events in Boston, I have decided to dedicate my training for the 26.2 mile race to raising money for the American Red Cross.
Just qualifying for the Boston Marathon is an accomplishment few will ever attain. It is a goal of mine to one day qualify for and run that race, and I can't imagine the feeling of having it ruined by such senseless acts of cruelty. I feel terrible for the families of those killed or injured on what should have been one of the most rewarding and joyful days of their lives.
So in response, I would like to help raise as much as I can for the heroes who step up and save lives in times like this. Please give whatever you can afford. Even a few dollars helps! Your donation will help save lives and will give me the motivation I need to get up at 5 AM in the middle of Summer and train!
You can click where it says "Donate to this Fundraiser" on the right. There is a $10 minimum donation online. If you would like to donate a smaller amount or would just rather pay by cash or check, you can do so as well. Please make any checks payable to "American Red Cross" and I will submit your donation for you.
Thanks for your time and your support!
