BENEFITING: Shoulder To Shoulder Inc
EVENT DATE: Nov 10, 2013
My hope in running 26.2 miles is not only to accomplish a personal life goal, but to raise money for Scarf It Up for Those in Need. My goal is raise $100 for each mile I run. Will you join me?
Why Scarf It Up?
First of all, this charity is near and dear to my heart. Not only is Northern Kentucky my hometown but my mom has run this program for 10 years! With the help of many family members, friends and volunteers the handmade scarves given out have grown from 500 to over 9,000 scarves, touching thousands of lives.
Why should you donate?
Well why not? Helping others in need is not only the right thing to do, but in turn you have the opportunity to grow as a person. Giving has challenged me to look beyond my "wants" and help fulfill the needs of others. A simple reminder that we are all in this together. Team together with friends or family members to sponsor a mile! Have a favorite number or a date that is special to you...choose that number mile to create extra meaning to your gift.
What if I can't give financially, but I still want to help?
We want your help! Did you know that you can campaign with me for this event? Help spread the word on social media sites and to your friends and family. Send happy thoughts, positive energy and pray for the success of this fundraiser.
If you are in Northern Ky or the Cincinnati area you can volunteer with Scarf It Up, donate handmade scarves, or help spread the word about them.
