We run to remember all 168 victims, but especially Alan Whicher.
Even after his death, Alan has touched the lives of people who never met him. He is a grandfather to five grandchildren, Emma, Hunter, Faith, Ashley, and Jett, who know him only by legacy, and a father-in-law to James, Steve, and Michelle making him an in-law to their families as well, most of whom only know him by listening to others' memories.
Many of these people Alan never met, along with many who knew him and knew him well, are travelling to Oklahoma this year in his memory! So far, the team is:
- Meredith Highland (daughter)
- James Highland (son-in-law)
- Emma Highland (granddaughter)
- Faith Highland (graddaughter)
- Melinda Whicher-Micciche (daughter)
- Stephen Micciche (son-in-law)
- Hunter Micciche (grandson)
- Ashley Whicher (granddaughter)
- Jett Micciche (grandson)
- Ryan Whicher (son)
- Michelle Whicher (daughter-in-law)
- Pamela Layton (widow)
- Walter Layton (friend)
- Victoria Lake (niece)
- Daniel Perlman (niece's fiance)
- Tom Burkett (in-law)
- Susan Burkett (in-law)
- Allison Burkett (in-law)
- John Burkett (in-law)
- Brett Hamilton (friend)
If you want or need to be added to the list, just let one of us know!
The Memorial and Museum are a testament to the lives lost and the families who remain. We stand among the empty chairs and mourn the lost. We walk through the museum and travel back in time to the events of April 19, 1995. The site is not just a Memorial and a Museum, it is an experience. Let's make sure to keep this important monument to our history open and available for generations to come!
