BENEFITING: SAN FRANCISCO CHILDRENS ART CENTER
EVENT DATE: Oct 20, 2013
“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up” -Pablo Picasso
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page! On October 20th, 2013, I will be running the Nike Women's Marathon in support of the San Francisco Children's Art Center's Scholarship Program. The Art Center is a non-profit organization that nurtures the developmental and artistic growth of children through creative expression and self-guided learning. By encouraging discovery and growth in a supportive and collaborative environment, the Art Center is a place where possibility becomes reality.
As you all know, I spend much time here and our work means very much to me. With increased budget cuts in public schools, I truly believe that giving the opportunity for creative exploration to low-income students is something critically needed, and certainly something that will brighten our communities and future as a whole. As a small non-profit, the Art Center relies on the generous support of individuals to bridge the gap between tuition and operating expenses, as well as to help fund outreach programs.
To you, my friends and family, I ask that you join me as I prepare to run 26.2 grueling miles through the hills of San Francisco to raise funds for the Scholarship Program and ensure every child has access to arts education. Please know that 100% of your tax-deductible contribution will go toward the Art Center's Scholarship Program.
