Almost a year ago, my then 2 year old son, was diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome (pronounced: Drah-vay). It is a severe form of epilepsy that will not be outgrown. Ben has tried many medications and treatments with little or no improvement. Currently, Ben has 100 + little seizures a day and multiple larger ones each week. He wears a helmet to protect himself from his constant falls. Ben has developmental issues as well which is common among kids with DS . Because he doesn't really speak we are working on teaching him sign language. Ben has a delightful sense of humor and a loving personality. We hope for a bright future for Ben. Please consider donating to Running for Ben to raise money for research so we can find a treatment or cure for all kids with Dravet.
