Running for Nepali Youth
I love running. The journey began at age 4 when my father gave me my official light-green running shoes. Then, I could barely run at the pace he walked. I was able to discover and explore my passion for running because my father saw in me what I could not. After he passed away in October 2012, his teachings grew even stronger. I celebrated the platform he provided me, by running my first marathon in 2013.
This year I am running "Chicago Marathon 2014" to re-celebrate the concept of providing platform to others to explore their passion. I am raising funds for Dayitwa Nepal Public Service Fellowship, which provides a platform to young innovators of Nepali origin to leverage their expertise, passion and network in bringing positive change to Nepal’s public system.
In 2014, 20 Dayitwa Fellows from 8 countries (Nepal, India, Italy, US, Australia, Poland, China, and UAE) will be working for 3 months in 8 public agencies and with 10 Members of Parliament from all major political parties. I want to support 4 Dayitwa Fellows working on:
- Increasing women participation in politics
- Developing a psychosocial counseling manual to improve student learning
- Creating a digital school mapping system for more effective monitoring and evaluation of schools
- Evaluating tools that the Business Incubation Center can use to support entrepreneurs in growing their businesses
I am excited about supporting the Dayitwa platform to enable young innovators in pursuing their passion for Nepal. I cannot finish this journey alone. I NEED YOU. I have pledged to raise $2400. I will greatly appreciate your support in meeting this important goal. Let's finish this journey together.
Dherai maya (much love),
