Dear Friends and Family,
As many of you know, I am a mentor with an organization called iMentor (Imentor.org). iMentor connects New York City high school students in low-income communities with working professionals who serve as their mentors and help them build critical skills linked to high school and college success. I will be running in the 2012 ING New York City Marathon on behalf of this great organization to help ensure that more students get the guidance and tools they need to build bright futures. I hope you will join me in supporting iMentor through helping me reach my fundraising goal.
Here is a bit about my own involvement with the program. Last year, I was matched with Luilly, a senior at the International High School at Lafayette in Brooklyn. Luilly and I worked together to prepare him for his Regents exams, strengthen his time management skills, and build strong study habits. It has been tremendously rewarding to watch him grow as a student and a young man.
Without a doubt, I could not have gotten through high school, college, and beyond without people who took an interest in me – family, friends, teachers, coaches, etc. The truth is, you can never have too many people in your corner. I am honored and proud to be one of those people in Luilly’s life.
By making a gift to my page for the NYC Marathon, you can help make more mentoring relationships possible. Thank you in advance for your support.
Note, Barclays will match all contributions up until $1,400.
So what are you waiting for?
