BENEFITING: THOMAS G LABRECQUE FOUNDATION
EVENT: 2014 11th Annual Run As One
EVENT DATE: Apr 27, 2014
On April 27th, I'll be running in the NYC Run as One event, which was founded in 2003 by the Thomas G. Labrecque foundation to help raise awareness for lung cancer and raise money for lung cancer research. It is a 4-mile run or 1.3 mile Health Walk that takes place in Central Park, followed by a post-race celebration at Rumsey Playfield which showcases the work of several lung cancer foundations, as well as has lots of fun activities for kids.
This year is my first year participating, and I'm running in honor of my dad, who passed away in August 2011 from Stage IV inoperable genetic lung cancer. He, like many others diagnosed with the disease, was perfectly healthy and had never touched a cigarette in his life.
I hope you can join me in the fight against lung cancer! There are two ways that you can do so:
1. Donate here! Any amount is extremely appreciated - and please know that 100% of your donation will go to lung cancer research. *Please note that when you donate, there is a point at which you can enter an “optional processing fee” - OPT out of this and make the amount 0%*
2. Join me in running / walking at the event itself! If you donate $25 or more and would like to participate on the 27th, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org (include whether you’d like to walk or run and your DOB) and I will put you on my list. I’ll pass on your information to a TGL representative so you don’t have to go through the registration process online. I’ll also email you closer to the 27th so that we can all meet up beforehand!
Thank you so much-
