BENEFITING: Make-A-Wish Foundation Michigan
EVENT DATE: Oct 19, 2014
In December 2012, Max was diagnosed with SPNET, a rare form of brain tumor. Through multiple surgeries, radiation, and chemotherapy. he has been able to return to school and soccer. He's been out of treatment for almost a year, with every new clear scan putting him a little further into remission. The efforts of the doctors, nurses, techs, and many charities have made his fight just a little more tolerable.
I am again running the half-marathon portion of the Grand Rapids Marathon to raise money for childhood cancer charities. This year, donations will be made to Make-A-Wish Michigan. Make-A-Wish is one of the many amazing organizations that helps families deal with a tough diagnosis. Though they don't only work with cancer patients, they make some incredible arrangements to make unforgettable experiences for those they help.
I've experienced Make-A-Wish firsthand and want to give a little back for their generosity and efforts in a very small attempt to say thank you.
