April 10th, I will be running the Philly Love Run 1/2 Marathon. What better chance then to raise money for a great cause! I will be running in support of the One Love Foundation. The One Love Foundation was founded in 2010 to increase awareness about relationship violence. The foundation strives work with young people across the country to raise awareness about the warning signs of abuse and activate communities to work to change the statistics around relationship violence. Yeardley Love was a senior at UVA about to graduate and an avid lacrosse player who played for UVA. Just weeks before graduation, she was found beaten to death by her ex-boyfriend in her apartment. The One Love Foundation was founded by her mother and sister as a way to honor Yeardley and raise awareness. Currently 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men will experience relationship abuse in their lifetime. The One Love Foundation seeks to educate and empower communities to recognize the signs of relationship abuse and equipping individuals with the tools they need to change these staggering statistics. All donations will go directly to the One Love Foundation to help fund community education activities and escalation workshops. Thanks in advance for your support!
