BENEFITING: American Red Cross
By now, we've all heard about the tragic bombing that left 3 dead and over 150 people wounded at the Boston Marathon. As tragic as that is, there remains an opportunity for all of us to provide aid to ensure the victims and their families receive the medical treatment they require and the counciling they may need to recover.
My name is Mike Harmon, founder of Running for Recovery. I Implore every one of you to help me help those affected by the bombing at the Boston Marathon, whether through a monetary donation or a simple display of support and affection for those searching for aid. Many heroes have emerged from this horrific act of terrorism, from police and emergency personnel to the runners themselves. With a small donation, you can become one of those heroes.
One of the staples of the American culture is that we persevere through hardship and extend a helping hand to those who need it, and I'm hoping all of you will extend your hands with me. As we have persevered in the past, so shall we persevere in the present and emerge united in support for those who require it.
Since this bombing occured at a marathon, I plan to use running as the means for this fundraiser. On the first of May, I will begin training and preparing myself for my ultimate goal - to participate in the 2014 Boston Marathon.
This will be no small undertaking and I invite all of you to join me in a universal display of support. I hope to make the 2014 Boston Marathon the most memorible one in history and I hope that together, we can show the world that in the face of adversity, we stand together and support eachother with unwavering conviction.
100% of the proceeds will go to the American Red Cross to help aid their relief efforts.
Thank you so much for your help and support!
