Why save rhinos? At the turn of the 19th century, there were approximately one million rhinos. In 1970, there were around 70,000. Today, there are fewer than 25,000 rhinos surviving in the wild. The last Javan rhino in Vietnam has just gone extinct. Enough said.
Bringing the message East: Save the Rhino Foundation's Rhino's have long been a favourite feature of the London Marathon and a key fundraiser for this important organistaion's effort in the plight to save rhinos. The Flamand brothers plan to take them and their message east with inaugaral appearances at first the Dubai, and then the Hong Kong Marathon....
....yes folks, we will be running full marathons in something akin to a portable sauna with an oversized face mask (see pic). Whether its $10 or $10,000 pls donate to the cause (and spread the word!!)....it'll all help to lighten our load, and ultimately to save what rhinos we still have left....
Yours in rhino welfare,
Richard & Philippe
