Running for Ryan
Organized by: Kristin Mannschreck
EVENT DATE Apr 26, 2015
Three years ago this summer, Ryan experienced his first of a number of seizures to follow in the months and years to come. After swift testing and evaluating, he was diagnosed with an avocado-sized stage 4, grade 3 malignant brain tumor. Glory be to God, he was able to have surgery to remove most of the mass followed by chemotherapy treatment to kill the remaining cancer cells. After two and a half years of treatment and consistent MRI checks, there were two more tumors that appeared in his most recent MRI in March 2015. The doctors immediately scheduled surgery which Ryan just completed Friday, April 10. Again, glory be to God, the surgeons removed all of the mass including the remains of the original tumor and a cyst that had developed on his brain. One can only begin to imagine the painful journey this young family has endured for so long. Lori, a faithful, loving wife has tirelessly cared for Ryan along with their two young boys ages 8 and 5. Their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ has been their strength and rock during this time. It is my prayer that you will help in our effort to bless the Veirs financially as they will have a number of overwhelming medical expenses and miscellaneous needs. I ask that you would pledge an amount for each of the 26.2 miles of the marathon to donate and gift to the Veirs. It can be as small as $1 / mile or as much as $100 / mile (or simply give a one time gift amount)! The race will be here in just two weeks. Please use the power of social media to spread the word. The Veirs have run a true race of endurance during this trial - may God be glorified and the Veirs be blessed as you join in our effort of Running for Ryan!!!
