Having a spot on the coveted Running for Shelter hood to coast relay team for the last nine years has been one of my greatest joys. Each of those years we have recruited an amazing team of mission-driven runners who combine their twisted love of runing up and down mountains covering 200 miles in just over a full day with their devotion for bringing attention to the millions of americans struggling to make ends meet who just need the opportunity for a place they can afford and can call home.
2013 is no different except that we will be running to raise funding for a long-standing, successful non-profit developer and manager of affordable housing in one of the most expensive housing markets in the country - San Francisco. And, the Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Company was also one of the early adopters of green building practices setting a trend for the rest of the country to not just provide housing people can afford but housing that improves their health and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. Check out their work for yourself www.tndc.org and then join our team by making a donation.
***The first donation will receive the official Hood to Coast Relay race T-Shirt and the biggest donation will receive their very own RunningforShelter2013 technical running shirt***
